4th of July Party – 5 Food Must Haves

In just a couple of days we will be celebrating our nation's Independence day as we usually do with food, family, friends, fireworks and lots of fun.  To ensure a successful celebration here are 5 must haves for your shin-dig.

1. Dessert

There are lots of great ideas out there to choose from and if you allow yourself, it can be easily overwhelming.  Not to worry, I have taken out the guess-work and have found you a little something in each main category.  Let's start with dessert because that's my favorite most logical.

Mel's Kitchen Cafe has a great Brownie {& Fruit Kebab} recipe that is is simple and is sure to please.   Go here for the full tutorial.

2. Main Course

If something different is what you are going for and you like the kebob idea then let's continue, shall we?  Here is a great collection of skewers and kebob's from Yummly.

Go here to see the full list from chili lime, marinated beef and veggie to pineapple and tequila skewers and more!

3. Drinks

Have you ever had a drink that made you feel like you were drinking a firework?  If not, then today is your lucky day!!  May I present to you ~The Sparkler~

Please note - this drink can be made in both an alcoholic and non-alcoholic version to please all party goers just, make sure that you know which is which before serving!  ☺☻☺☻

4. Decor

When it comes to decor there are LOTS of options.  I've found a great round-up for you from Atkinson Drive with links to DIY's, printables and inexpensive options.  Enjoy them here!

5. Fireworks

It wouldn't be 4th of July without fireworks now would it?  No matter where in the state you will be, here is a comprehensive list of firework shows provided by the Denver Channel of firework locations throughout the entire state.

I wish you all the very best and safest 4th of July 2013 holiday no matter where you are or what you do.

Until next time,
